Some changes to my faculty 🏗️🏤

Imagen
I’m studying music interpretation in the specialty of lyric singing, and I think mostly of my career’s curriculum is very good. We have a lot of very good subjects that are very helpful for our careers as musicians and singers like phonetic, acting, opera, chamber music, history of music and others with amazing teachers. But even with all of that good things I would change some other little things in the curriculum, like professional practice: I would like to have the chance to sing in a professional choir, for example. Also I would change the amount of singing auditions we have along the year. We, students and teachers, think that are not enough, that we need more exposure to the stage and the public. Although many of us share the belief that the career is too long, I think that when we graduate we end up with a lot of knowledge and very well prepared for working life. Regarding the faculty infrastructure, I think it works but it's not enough. It is necessary to fix the elevators...

Time travel 🔙⏳

Imagen
I think time travel is very interesting. I wouldn’t like to travel to the future because I’m not too optimistic about it and it gives me a little anxiety 😅 I could imagine myself seeing how bad the future is, coming back to the present and telling everyone how it is and how to change it and then seeing how people treat me like a mad person. I don’t want that. I would like to travel to the past. I think I wouldn’t change anything because, even if I can stop a catastrophe, I don’t know if that change makes our future better or worse. I just would like to presence an historical event just to tell everyone “I WAS THERE!!” If I can choose a date or an event in the past to go, could be February 1942: the operatic debut of Maria Callas, when she was 19 years old, or one of her stunning representations of Tosca or La Traviata of 1958. I would like to recorder her in video because there is not exist a video recording of her singing an opera, there are just concerts, interviews or voice recordi...

My dream job 🎶🎭

Imagen
Through the years I’ve changing my dream job. When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a “puppy doctor” ( a veterinary) because I love puppies. Then, I wanted to be a violinist, and then, a music teacher. It wasn’t till I started the university that I realized that I actually didn't wanted to be a teacher, what I really wanted was to live from art, to live making music. And when I started studying lyric singing I realized that there is a kind of art that mixes all of the arts I like: OPERA. To me, being an opera singer is the most wonderful job. I have to sing, act, sometimes dance too and I have to wear all those beautiful costumes from different ages. Also, I would love to sing in all of those beautiful theaters with beautiful stages all around the world. Great musicians have the opportunity of travel around the world thanks to the music, and I think that is very valuable and wonderful, so I want that for me too. I know that this career is very competitive and lonely, but even ...

My best concert 🎶🌻

Imagen
My best concert was last year at the “Teatro Municipal de Santiago” and it was the opera “La Traviata” (a concert version because of the pandemic). The lead role of Violetta was played by Yaritza Véliz, a young chilean soprano that is succeeding in the best’s opera houses in the world and it was her world debut in that role. She sang beautifully, so expressive, so powerful… it was like seeing the actual Violetta on stage! She could express so good all of the feelings of the protagonist that she had me in tears all over the last act. The rest of the cast played their roles very good too, but Yaritza was magnificent. Having the opportunity of listening the opera in live was a wonderful gift and I really felt so lucky. When the concert ended, my friends and I went to congratulate the singers and I could take a photo with Yaritza. She was humble, nice and gentle with everyone. She really inspires me as a singer and as a person.

A country I would like to visit 🗺️📍

Imagen
🇫🇷 I would love to visit France It’s a country with a lot of history. It’s the capital of fashion. French people consume a lot of wine, cheese, cigarettes and bread (specifically baguette). The population has so much respect for work breaks, holidays, lunch breaks. They don’t live for work: they work for living and having fun. I would love to visit a lot of cities, landscapes, small villages, museums, theaters and operas. I want to go to concerts, ballets and operas. I would like to enjoy a coffee while I’m looking at the Eiffel tower or just take a coffee or tea in a beautiful coffee shop. I want to try a lot of french food, specially desserts. I want to see and be part of their traditions.  I would like to live in Paris because I think it’s really beautiful and I could have a lot of opportunities as an opera singer. I also want to learn about the French culture by living there and I want to improve my french skills by talking with native french-speaking people. I want to...
