Some changes to my faculty 🏗️🏤

I’m studying music interpretation in the specialty of lyric singing, and I think mostly of my career’s curriculum is very good. We have a lot of very good subjects that are very helpful for our careers as musicians and singers like phonetic, acting, opera, chamber music, history of music and others with amazing teachers. But even with all of that good things I would change some other little things in the curriculum, like professional practice: I would like to have the chance to sing in a professional choir, for example. Also I would change the amount of singing auditions we have along the year. We, students and teachers, think that are not enough, that we need more exposure to the stage and the public.

Although many of us share the belief that the career is too long, I think that when we graduate we end up with a lot of knowledge and very well prepared for working life.

Regarding the faculty infrastructure, I think it works but it's not enough. It is necessary to fix the elevators on side A urgently and put those on side B back into operation. The ceilings of the classrooms must be better arranged and the acoustic insulation must be improved. I also think it is very necessary to have more and better pianos and that those that are already there, tune them at least once a semester. Also, thinking about the technology available in the faculty, the use of it depends on each classroom, but for example, the faculty has a recording studio that currently cannot be occupied because they are using it as a warehouse... a great waste of a tool that would be very useful to teachers and students.

Finally, the teachers' methodology, although that of some is very outdated, it works very well and is easy to understand. In addition, teachers are usually very respectful of their students and many adapt their methodologies to their needs, which I think is very correct and beneficial.
